Outline of role
Fully Qualified Accountant urgently required by NHS Trust.
This diverse and challenging fixed term contract will provide accurate accounting information on both Financial/Management accounts
Month end accruals,
Provide financial reporting and oversight of activity
Supervise a highly motivated and friendly finance team.
Immediate start is on offer to successful candidate.
Oracle systems skills are a must.

Day to Day Duties:
Maintain the financial accounting records for the Department of Health Projects under administration using College or Trust systems where appropriate whilst providing a high quality level of service to the Office users, Clinical and Administration departments.

Provide the following services to Project Investigators

Maintenance of individual project accounts including the preparation of project budgets, collection of income from external funding bodies, the provision of statements to Project Investigators together with any advice and guidance investigators may require during the course of their project.

Liaison with external officers in the NIHR and partner organisations to ensure financial reports and accounting documentation are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
Initiation of project termination procedures including the submission of final claims and project budget statements.
Dissemination to colleagues of information on R&D standing orders, policies and procedures and ensuring that any changes are widely publicised to the Office users before implementation.

Liaise with other administrative departments actively involved in the R&D administrative function, including Finance and Personnel, to ensure that efficient and effective interdepartmental systems and communication are maintained.

Continuously process and update the information held on the Office's financial systems and databases in a timely fashion, in order to ensure the accuracy of the data.

Liaising with the Credit Control Department to assist with the recovery of outstanding debtor payments on Research Grants and Contracts.

Assist with the collection of information required for internal or external reporting purposes and any other tasks or duties that might from time to time arise during the course of the post holder's employment with the trust.

Provide central financial services to the Department of Health programme grant ( Large Projects)
Administer the finances of the Local Clinical Research Network (CRN)
Budget setting and forecasting, portfolio for studies funded by the NIHR
Provide support to Pre and Post awards
Prepare annual external project budgets uploads to finance system
Prepare Cash flow forecast and attending meeting with the Heads of Finance.
Prepare Annual Financial report to the Department of Health (DoH/NIHR).
Prepare maintain with uploading of the R&D budgets.
