Outline of role
Responsible for the purchase ledger, counsel and expenses payment processes, client bank receipts plus other accounts admin duties.
The successful candidate will have 1 years experience of working within an accounts department dealing either within a Professional services firm but ideally a Law firm either as a purchase ledger clerk, and accounts assistant or legal cashier.
A knowledge of SAR’s, have a friendly personality and be an enthusiastic worker willing to assist in a varied role. An AAT studier or somebody who would like to take this examination.

Day to day duties
Purchase Ledger and Expenses
-Accurate coding and posting of general purchase ledger invoices onto the accounts system.
-Dispatching and tracking supplier invoices internally for authorisation and billing onto clients.
-Dealing with supplier queries/issues as they arise.
-Monthly reconciliation of purchase ledger accounts to supplier statements, including professional disbursements.
-Posting and monitoring employee expense claims.
-Posting and controlling counsel and expert fee notes in a timely manner.
-Maintaining and setting up supplier records.
-Maintaining and setting up BACS templates for suppliers.
-Reconciliation and posting of company credit card receipts against statements.
-Initiating payment runs by cheque, BACS and TT.
-Distribution of petty cash/foreign currency.
-Banking and Client Receipts
-Regular review of online banking.
-Identification and allocation of incoming office and client receipts.
-Preparing and processing client related payments, and obtaining appropriate authorisation.
-Bank reconciliations assistance when required.
-Banking and other admin duties, including daily filing.
-Assisting the Senior Legal Cashier, especially during annual audits.
-Preparation of analysis and running reports for the Senior Legal Cashier, Accounts Manager and Director of Finance as necessary.
