An International Law Firm who have expanded geographically to suit the needs of their clients and now with office locations throughout Europe, Asia & America. UK arm office operates from prestigious offices within the City of London.
Outline of role
Cashier/Expense Assistant will provide support to the London Cash and Accounts Payable team as required. This role is initially a fixed term contract of 6-9 months, with the potential of a permanent position based on business need as well as strong performance during the fixed term.
Ideal candidate will be flexible and proactive and display qualities of reliability, commitment, and punctuality. A keen eye for detail and the eagerness to learn are imperative. Experience with Solicitors Accounts Rules is necessary.
Candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years accounts experience, preferably in a law firm.
Day to day duties
Processing office receipts for all International Offices (London, Munich, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai), including banking of the receipts
Produce the daily cash balances spreadsheet
Enter the daily exchange rates from Thomson Reuters
Daily posting of client receipts for all International offices
Client transaction posting to financial system
Balancing client accounts on a weekly basis
Maintenance of client spreadsheet
Accounts Payable/Expenses o Vendor invoice posting
Process UK weekly cheque/BACS run (electronic processing of financial transactions)
Expense report review
General o Research and answer general accounting queries
Filing and archiving
The successful candidate will maintain high quality standards, including attention to details; meet strict accounting deadlines
Offers suggestions that improve department processes
Assist with new projects
Assist with planning and goal setting for department
Effectively manage time to complete requests and time sensitive issues. Maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
