OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
This challenging career opportunity will report to the London Finance Supervisor taking full responsibility for Client Trust Accounts/Accounts Receivable at the same time assisting with other aspects of finance on a day to day basis
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ·
Handing of all client/trust funds in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Ensure all cheques received are banked with in two days of receipt and all funds received are properly identified by a partner.
Calculation of interest on funds held where applicable.
Regular liaison with partners and clients in regards to funds held.
Payment of funds held by bank transfer upon signed approval by a partner.
Daily updating of internet banking to capture funds received.
Preparation of client balances spreadsheets.
Receipt of cash and cheques received within two days of receipt of funds.
Daily updating and management of internet banking so as to capture all direct credits received.
Preparation of and posting of receipts in Elite
Cover for the Billing Assistant and Accounts Payable Assistant when absent.
Co-ordination of Anti Money Laundering compliance and verification as part of the New Client and Matter opening process.
Posting of general ledger journals
Inputting all payments and payment runs on Internet Banking for checking and approval.
Checking and payment of Unpaid Disbursements on a daily basis.
Assists the Finance Supervisor and Director of Administration with the Compiling of data for the annual SAR and statutory audits.
Preparation of all Client and Operating Bank Reconciliations with the Finance Supervisor.
with the UK VAT Regulations and Solicitors Accounts Rules at all times.
Preparation of P11D and PSA data for submission to payroll
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Elite Accounting System preferred.
Solid SAR and VAT knowledge is essential.
Approximately 3 to 5 years relevant experience gained within the Legal Finance sector
Strong written and oral communication skills.
