Adept Recruitment is one of the UK's leading providers of permanent recruitment solutions to the Health and Social Care sectors and we offer bespoke consultancy services to clients and candidates alike.
The Company
Our client provides Supported Living, Residential, Outreach and Community Services to individuals with multiple or complex needs such as learning disabilities, autism, ABI and/or challenging behaviours. Employees benefit from great career progression, sector-leading professional training and great job stability – people stay an average of 6 years!
The Role
This service is a transitional service in Virginia Water supporting young adults with complex needs and learning disabilities to develop their independent living skills. The people who live there have varying support needs from full personal care and physical support to encouragement of personal care and support with varying activities and going on holiday.
All of the individuals attend day centres Mon-Fri with 1 person staying behind each day to complete their individual activities (incl. canoeing, rock climbing, cinema, shopping etc.). Because of this the service runs on a split shift basis (7am-10am, 3pm-8/9pm and 8:45pm-7:15am; subject to change). The manager is flexible if a candidate cannot complete all night shifts. Due to the day centre and range of activities it is essential applicants hold a full valid driving licence and use of own vehicle (there are 2 service vehicles).
Skills and Experience
You don’t need experience as full training is provided, and you will work with a local team who will guide you from day one.
You will need to be:
•Reliable – the person you support, their family and your team will quickly learn that they can count on you.
•Creative – you see alternative ways of getting things done effectively.
•Determined – you don’t give up when things get difficult.
These qualities are essential to the role, as together they mean you will be able to give outstanding support, empowering people to make choices and:
•participate in social, leisure and work activities
•carry out everyday tasks, such as personal care, cleaning or going shopping
•learn new skills and reach their full potential
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £17,000 per annum + benefits
Benefits include:
•Paid enhanced criminal records disclosure
•The ability to increase your salary by working overtime at an enhanced rate
•31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays (pro-rata), increasing after 2 years’ service and after 5 years’ service
•Discount scheme on various high street shops including new airtime O2 contracts (T&C’s apply)
•Contributory pension scheme and life cover is provided
