All Temps that are paid via PAYE are eligible for Holiday Pay.

If you are a Self Employed worker and work via a Limited Company we will not be responsible for your Holiday pay, it is the responsibility of the Limited Company you are working for.

As a Temp you must inform us when you want to take Holiday – this can be sent via e-mail to your consultant. You should ensure that you give us notice which would be equivalent to twice the time taken i.e. 1 days holiday, 2 days notice; 1 weeks Holiday, 2 weeks notice. Requests must not be made on your Timesheet.

Adept Recruitment automatically pays Holiday for Bank Holidays – you do not need to request these as holidays.

Adept is responsible for recording and paying holiday pay to its PAYE and Student workers.

Statutory Holiday for Temps

From 1 October 2007                     4.8 weeks - 24 days for full-time workers pro rata per annum

                                                      Part-Time workers
If you work 4 days per week then the worker would be entitled to 4/5ths,
                                                      which is 19.2 days (4/5*24)

From 1 April 2009                          The annual leave will be increased to
5.6 weeks - 28 days for full-time workers pro rata per annum

                                                      Part-Time workers
If you work 4 days per week then the worker would be entitled to 4/5ths,
                                                      which is 22.4 days (4/5*28)

The reason that you get these odd numbers of days is to ensure that you are paid for Bank Holidays – a time that Temps didn’t get paid as they didn’t work. The government decided to implement this scheme over a 2 year period – so your current entitlement will be increased automatically again from April 2009.

Adept Recruitment accrues ‘holiday pay’ on your behalf and the amount paid to you is based on the average amount you have earnt over the previous 12 weeks as laid out in the Working Time Regulations. When you take holiday, the money will be paid into your account the following week, as your hours would normally be paid in any assignment.

Your Holiday Year starts the day you start your assignment.

You must use your entitlement within your Holiday Year as it will not be carried over.

When you finish an assignment any outstanding Holiday pay will be paid to you automatically.

For those candidates currently Temping with Adept Recruitment please refer to your Contract of Services for further details.
